Why Thermostat Repair Matters More Than People Think

A thermostat looks simple on the wall, but it is doing a surprising amount of work. It reads the temperature of the room, compares it to the setting you chose, and sends low-voltage signals down a bundle of thin wires telling your heat pump, air handler, or furnace exactly when to start, stop, switch between heating and cooling, and call for backup heat. When any part of that conversation breaks down, your comfort goes with it.

Over years of use, dust builds up inside the unit, power surges nudge the calibration off, and the internal sensor slowly loses accuracy. Placement matters too.
